Firefighters are on the scene of a fire that damaged a house in the Town of Harrison on Saturday afternoon.
According to primary reports, firefighters were called to 735-737 William Street after receiving 911 calls reporting a fire with possible trapped occupants at approximately 12:25 p.m.
The Town of Harrison Councilman Jesus Huaranga said he was working across the street from the affected house and immediately assisted residents out of the residence when he heard smoke alarms.
”I immediately called firefighters who did a terrific job in knocking the fire down”, Councilman Huaranga said.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire coming from a two-story brick front house according to reports,
Crews immediately made entry into the home and found flames coming from a second-floor apartment but after a search, there were no trapped occupants inside.
Crews had the fast-moving blaze under control in under a half-hour with no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Harrison Fire officials.
