Toms River Man Charged with Failing to Comply With Megan’s Law

Toms River

A Toms River man is facing charges after allegedly failing to comply with Megan’s Law registration requirements, authorities announced.

According to a statement released by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, 36-year-old Keith Hadden was charged on March 7, 2025, with two counts of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Megan’s Law, which has been in effect since 1994, mandates that certain sex offenders register with local law enforcement whenever they move, change their residential address, or alter their place of employment.

Failure to adhere to these requirements is classified as a third-degree crime.

An investigation conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Megan’s Law Squad revealed that Hadden had moved from his registered address in Toms River to Seaside Heights without properly notifying law enforcement, as required by law.

Further inquiries uncovered that he had also been terminated from his registered place of employment without informing authorities—another violation of Megan’s Law.

On March 7, Hadden was taken into custody by the Seaside Heights Police Department without incident.

He was subsequently transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he remains held pending a detention hearing.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about this case or other individuals who may be violating Megan’s Law requirements to come forward.
