A family of four escaped potential severe injuries after a fire broke out inside their home late Wednesday night.
According to Toms River Police, at approximately 10:52 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to 2328 Donna Dee Court to investigate reports of a fire.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy flames and thick smoke coming from the roof of a large single-family home.
Firefighters stretched several lines and began to knock flames down that began spreading to portions of the home.
Police say the family escaped the fire and the home suffered extensive damages but not a complete loss.
The fire was brought under control in under an hour.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
