The fast actions of a concern citizen led police in Toms River to the arrest of a man wanted in connection to a hit-and-run.
The day after police publicized that their department was looking for a hit-and-run suspect, a resident led police to a Wawa parking lot where suspect was located.
Yesterday around 8 a.m., a concerned citizen pulled into the Wawa - located at 1166 Fischer Boulevard - and realized that he was parked next to a vehicle that matched the description of a car on social media. He immediately contacted the police and Traffic Officer Adam Koeppen immediately responded.
The suspect was identified as Michael A. Dymond, 21, who has addresses on Commonwealth Boulevard in Manchester and Tyler Drive in Toms River.
Upon approaching Dymond, the officer observed him try and discard packets of Suboxne on the ground.
In connection with the crash, he was issued summonses for careless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, as well as numerous equipment violations.
He was also arrested and charged for the possession of Suboxone paraphernalia.
