The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is currently leading the investigation into a triple shooting that occurred in Paterson early Saturday morning.RLS Media learned that the incident came to light around 1:50 a.m. when a male victim suffering from a bullet wound to his back was dropped off at the emergency department of St. Joseph's Hospital.
According to preliminary reports, an off-duty police officer present at the hospital noticed the vehicle used to drop off the victim had signs of blood and weapons paraphernalia inside.
Following this discovery, Paterson Police detectives identified and secured a crime scene near 449 East 30th Street.
Shortly after establishing the crime scene, hospital officials informed the police of two additional gunshot victims who had entered the emergency room.
Initial reports said none of the injuries sustained in the incident was reported as life-threatening.The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, with Paterson Police collaborating closely with the Prosecutor's Office to determine the circumstances behind this violent event.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
