EMS rushed three seriously injured people to Capital Health Regional Medical Center after an overnight crash at a location in the city.
It happened in the vicinity of 15 Willow Street just before 1:25 a.m. where witnesses called 911 after seeing two cars collide near Capitol Street according to preliminary reports.
Trenton firefighters and rescue crews arrived to find to severely damaged vehicles with trapped occupants inside. It is not immediately clear if at least one of the injured was a pedestrian struck during the collision.
Firefighters used the 'Jaws of Life' to free victims from one of the vehicles.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
