Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. reported the arrest of three East Orange men—Amir Franks, 24, Tyrone Reynolds, 26, and Koran Link, 22—on charges of receiving stolen property and weapon possession on November 14.
The arrests occurred at approximately 8:24 p.m. after Newark police officers patrolling the 300 block of 6th Avenue identified a red Hyundai Tucson reported stolen from Passaic.
The vehicle was stopped, and the driver, Amir Franks, along with his passengers, Tyrone Reynolds and Koran Link, were immediately taken into custody.
During the arrest, officers discovered and recovered a silver firearm inside the vehicle.
All three suspects are facing charges of receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a firearm for an illegal purpose.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
