Three-Alarm Fire Tears Through Elizabeth Home

Fire crews battled a three-alarm blaze that displaced seven Elizabeth residents after flames tore through their Cherry Street home.

The fire broke out around 11:45 p.m. on the 300 block of Cherry Street.

Firefighters arrived to the scene where they encountered heavy fire showing from the attic of the two and a half story home.

Crews brought the fire under control at approximately 1 a.m., officials said.

All seven residents escaped unharmed according to Chief Thomas McNamara.
