Three-Alarm Fire Rips Through Newark House; Firefighters Injured

Officials in Newark are reporting that members of the Newark Fire Division responded to a three-alarm fire at 150 Sherman Avenue this morning.

According to Director Ambrose, approximately 7:59 a.m., about 70 firefighters responded to a massive fire that ripped through the roof of an unoccupied three-story residential building.

The fire spread to 152 Sherman Avenue, a three-family, occupied structure Director Ambrose said.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and are currently being treated by EMS.

No other injuries have been reported. This fire remains active.
