A thief stole a car that was left running near a restaurant in Belleville Monday night.
Police responded to reports of car theft at the Dominos Pizza restaurant located at 528 Washington Avenue around 11:15 p.m.
Authorities were told that the owner of a gray 2019 Rav 4 left the vehicle running shortly before an unidentified person jumped inside and sped away.
The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "U48-LND".
The incident is under investigation.
