Authorities in Newark requests the public's help identifying the suspect in connection with a theft that occurred on Tuesday, November 28.
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said at approximately 1:30 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of 13th Avenue on a call of a theft.Authorities say a woman entering a residential building was followed by a male who snatched her purse and fled.
The victim's purse contained $200.00 in cash and nine money orders, valued at approximately $2,800.00, officials stated.
Officials said detectives investigating this incident are requesting the public's help in quickly identifying the suspect.
According to officials, he is described as a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white cobra snake on the back and white Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers.
He was also carrying a black cross-body bag, officials say.
