Police in Jersey City are looking for a thief that broke into a home in Jersey City last night -Monday-.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to a home in the 70's block Zabriskie Street to take a report of a burglary that occurred before 8:25 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that a burglar reportedly entered the home from a fire escape, through a window, and stole several hundred dollars in cash and about a thousand dollars in jewelry according to reports.
Crime scene technicians photographed the location and dusted for fingerprints as police stepped up their search to find the suspect.
The incident remains under investigation.
