Police in Newark are in the search for a thief who drove away in a car that was left running with the keys in the ignition on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the incident happened just before 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Mulberry and Green street.
Police say the driver of a white GMC Sierra exited the vehicle to unload items when an unidentified person lurking the area jumped in and sped away from the scene.
It is not clear if the police ever found the car. Newark Police officials urge residents not to leave unattended vehicles running.
