Upon arrival, officers found that two adult victims and their children had been confronted by an armed, masked man who had entered their garage.

Officials said the suspect pointed a handgun at them, announced a robbery, and threatened them.

The victims screamed, scaring the suspect off and prompting him to flee to a nearby wooded area. Multiple law enforcement agencies from surrounding jurisdictions assisted the Norwood Police Department in the search.

Officers searching the wooded area located the suspect, later identified as Jisun Park, and took him into custody without incident.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad responded and initiated a joint investigation with the Norwood Police Department.

The investigation led to the recovery of items believed to be used by the suspect during the armed home invasion, including a pellet gun manufactured in the style of a Glock handgun.

As a result of the investigation, Jisun Park was charged with first-degree armed robbery, second-degree armed burglary, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, third-degree possession of a firearm, and fourth-degree aggravated assault.

Park was remanded to the Bergen County Jail for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
