A Texas-based defense contractor has agreed to pay $600,000 to settle allegations of improper billing for services it did not perform under a U.S. Air Force contract in New Jersey, U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger announced Friday.
The company, Solution One Industries Inc., was contracted to support the 421st Combat Training Squadron at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ.The settlement resolves claims that from December 2017 through June 2019, Solution One falsely billed the U.S. government for tasks it did not complete, including providing backup power and briefings to military personnel.
The investigation was led by the U.S. Department of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, directed by Brig. Gen. Amy S. Bumgarner.
The settlement marks a resolution of the government's claims against the contractor for making false claims.
This case highlights the government's continued commitment to holding contractors accountable for misrepresentations in federal contracts.
