In a powerful display of youth-led philanthropy, the Essex-Hudson Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has donated over $14,500 to Isaiah House, a nonprofit based in Essex County that supports the homeless and those facing food insecurity.

According to a statement released by Isaiah House officials, the $14,579 donation was raised through the chapter's successful Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser, which brought in a total of $43,737.
The teen members of the chapter chose Isaiah House as their nonprofit beneficiary, reaffirming their commitment to hands-on service and uplifting vulnerable communities.
Beyond raising funds, the teens deepened their impact with an in-person community service project on March 29, 2025.
The group rolled up their sleeves for a gardening effort at Isaiah House’s newly reopened 14th Street facility, helping revitalize the space for residents and staff.
“Donations of this size are rare—and unprecedented coming from a youth group,” said Zammeah Bivins-Gibson, Executive Director of Isaiah House.
“We are honored to be chosen once again by the Essex-Hudson Chapter of Jack and Jill. Their compassion and leadership give us hope for the future. These young people are already making the kind of change we need in our society.”
Teen leaders from the chapter expressed pride in the fundraiser’s success and their connection to Isaiah House’s mission.
“We were excited to raise funds and volunteer because we knew it would directly support families in Essex County who need it most,” said Bryce Cox, Teen Foundation Chair.
Teen President Gavin Naar added, “This fundraiser showed what’s possible when we work together toward a shared goal.”

Chapter President Kelly Garnes-Pages echoed their sentiments, highlighting the importance of early engagement in service.
“Everyone deserves the opportunity to live and thrive. Isaiah House provides that chance for so many. Our teens understand the power of giving back and the value of community partnership—lessons that will stay with them for life.”
The partnership between Isaiah House and the Essex-Hudson Chapter of Jack and Jill of America is not new.
For years, the chapter has supported the nonprofit through fundraising efforts and volunteer work, consistently helping to advance Isaiah House’s mission.

For more than 36 years, Isaiah House has provided emergency shelter, transitional housing, food distribution, and comprehensive support services to individuals and families in crisis—including women reentering society after incarceration, people with HIV, individuals with disabilities, and those struggling to make ends meet.
