A tragic car accident on New Year's Day in South Brunswick has left one teenager dead and three others injured, according to information released by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka.
The fatal crash occurred on the morning of January 1, at approximately 7:24 a.m., prompting a response from local authorities to Route 130 South. Upon arrival, police discovered a 1998 Buick that had collided with a utility pole.
The vehicle was carrying four occupants – one adult driver and three juveniles.
A 15-year-old boy from West Windsor, who was seated in the front passenger seat, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The remaining three individuals suffered minor injuries and were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for evaluation.
Officials have confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
