Teenage Girl Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Bergen County

A tragic incident occurred in Ridgefield, NJ, on Sunday evening when a 15-year-old girl was fatally struck by a vehicle.AdThe Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said the accident happened at the intersection of Shaler Boulevard and Edgewater Avenue at approximately 7:37 p.m.

The young victim, identified only as a local resident of Ridgefield, was pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center following the crash.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit - Fatal Accident Investigation Task Force, along with the Ridgefield Police Department, are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the accident.AdThe investigation is led by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Chief Thomas Gallagher of the Ridgefield Police Department.

As the community reels from this loss, the investigation remains ongoing, with authorities working to determine the cause of the crash and whether any charges will be filed in relation to the incident.
