NJ Transit officials are investigating an incident where a juvenile suffered an injury by a NJ Transit Light Rail train overnight.
According to a preliminary investigation by NJ transit, at approximately 9:15 pm Thursday, officials say there was an incident involving a male juvenile and a southbound Hudson-Bergen Light Rail vehicle at the Danforth Avenue Station.
Officials say an initial report indicates the victim attempted to "rail surf" by grabbing onto the outside of the light rail vehicle as it pulled away from the station.
The unidentified teen fell and sustained non-life threatening injuries to his leg according to NJ Transit officials.
EMS transported the boy to Jersey City Medical Center where doctors treated his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
