Teen Charged with Newark Gas Station Armed Robbery

Detectives from the Fugitive Apprehension Team (FAT) arrested a 16-year old male from Newark on Tuesday, August 8, 2016 for the armed robbery of a Heller Parkway gas station.

Police said , at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016, the juvenile and a second male suspect entered the snack shop area of the gas station armed with a large knife and wearing masks.

They took the cash drawer and a number of lottery tickets before fleeing in a blue vehicle.

Following an intense investigation, officers from FAT located and apprehended the juvenile suspect.

He is charged with robbery, conspiracy and weapon possession. The second suspect remains at large.

These are accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
