Teen Charged in Camden Homicide

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a teenager has been arrested in connection with a city homicide.

The defendant, an 18-year-old male from Camden, is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Leonard Moody, 22, of Camden.

Moody was fatally shot in the early morning hours of January 25th at the Branch Village apartments in Camden. Camden County Police responded at approximately 12:25 a.m. to a report of a person shot and discovered the victim lying outside on the ground. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m.

The defendant, who was 17 at the time of the homicide, was taken into custody on Monday and is being held at a juvenile detention facility.
