An overnight search for a swimmer who went missing in the Sandy Hook Bay Saturday night has come to an end with search and rescue crews locating the body of the woman Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports, emergency responders were called for the vicinity of 5th Street The Atlantic Highlands after received reports of a missing female swimmer at approximately 11:20 p.m.
Rescue crews placed several divers in the water to search for the woman according to authorities.
Police say 35-Year-Old Melissa Fries was found dead sometime before 5:30 a.m.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
