SWAT Team Engaged with Armed Barricaded Suspect in Clark, Local Area Locked Down

A tense standoff is underway in Clark as police and the Union County SWAT team work to resolve a situation involving a barricaded individual.Ice CreamThe incident began around 1 a.m. on Stanton Street, prompting authorities to close Madison Hill Road between Westfield Avenue and Stone Street to ensure public safety.

The suspect, believed to be armed, has not yet surrendered to authorities. While police have not confirmed the presence of hostages, they are proceeding with caution.

At approximately 4 a.m., Clark Police used a reverse 911 system to inform residents to avoid the area. Several homes nearby were also evacuated as a precaution.

Negotiations are ongoing as the SWAT team attempts to bring the situation to a safe resolution.

The area remains cordoned off, and residents are advised to stay clear until the situation is resolved.

The incident continues to be fluid and is under active investigation.

UPDATE 5:31 am Police have opened up Madison Hill Road and are reporting “no further incident”
