Suspicious Person in Vehicle at Rutgers Prep School Leads to Campus Closure for Investigation

Police in Franklin Township are investigating a suspicious person who was on the grounds of a Somerset County High School, forcing a closure this morning.AdThe incident involved an unidentified individual in a vehicle prompted a swift response from the Franklin Township Police Department at Rutgers Prep School.

Authorities arrived on the scene and apprehended the individual, though further details about the person's identity or actions have not been released.

Following the incident, police requested the closure of the campus to students, faculty, and staff to conduct a comprehensive investigation.

According to officials, there was no physical threat to anyone on campus at any point during the situation.

The school administration expressed gratitude for the quick and organized response of the Franklin Police, ensuring the safety of the school community.

The closure caused disruptions to the school's morning routine, and home athletic events scheduled for the day were either postponed or relocated to away venues.AdSchool officials said the school's Athletic Department will communicate further updates regarding these games to the families and students involved.

Rutgers Prep School indicated that unless further notice is provided, classes and activities are expected to resume as scheduled on Wednesday, October 16.
