The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating a suspicious death that occurred in Newark's North Ward on Tuesday night.The incident, which has gained some attention from residents, was first reported shortly before 11:45 p.m.
Police responded to a call at an address in the 800 block of Dillard Court, where they were tasked with investigating a report of an injured person.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a man with unspecified injuries. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Given the nature of the incident, the Essex County Homicide Task Force was promptly summoned to take charge of the investigation.
