The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating a suspicious death that occurred in Newark's North Ward on Tuesday night.
The incident, which has gained some attention from residents, was first reported shortly before 11:45 p.m.
Police responded to a call at an address in the 800 block of Dillard Court, where they were tasked with investigating a report of an injured person.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a man with unspecified injuries. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
