Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for a shooting in a section of Newark's South Ward early Wednesday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 281 Clinton Place shortly before 3:11 a.m.
When police arrived at the scene, they found evidence that a shooting had occurred, but while searching the area, no victims were found.
Police say they are looking into a possible carjacking connected to the incident after the suspect reportedly stole a vehicle from a person at that location.
The incident remains under investigation.
