Police in Newark pulled over a vehicle that was occupied by suspects who were wanted for an armed robbery that occurred in Elizabeth on Thursday evening.
Elizabeth police issued a be on the lookout to surrounding towns for two males who sped from the scene of a robbery that had the suspect reportedly use a machine gun during the course of the incident at a location in the city just before 10 p.m.
According to reports, Newark Police patrolling the vicinity of Dayton and Foster streets came across a vehicle that fit the description of suspects' car at around 10:40 p.m.
Two suspects were placed into custody and officers reportedly located a machine gun inside the vehicle.
Elizabeth Police were notified and responded to the location to assist in the investigation.
There were no injuries immediately reported.
