Police in Newark apprehended several suspects who were wanted for multiple armed robberies around the region overnight.
Preliminary information from authorities indicated that police attempted to pull over a vehicle occupied by suspects wanted for reported robberies in Newark, East Orange and Irvington.
The driver refused to stop and led police on a pursuit that ended with about four assailants bailing from the car at the intersection of Avon and Farley avenues around 1:30 a.m.
After a foot pursuit, police captured the suspects in the vicinity of Chadwick and Avon avenues.
Police reported no serious physical injuries during the robbery spree.
All of the suspects will be charged will eluding and armed robbery, among other charges.
The incident is under investigation.
