A police pursuit that occurred in Elizabeth this evening had suspect throw a gun out of the vehicle during the chase.
According to preliminary reports, police began to follow a vehicle onto Route 1&9 near Walnut shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Police say the car was occupied by about four suspects and had a registration return stolen.
The vehicle sped away from police then tossed an object out of the window in the 400 block of Walnut according to reports.
Police lost the vehicle near Catherine Street but recovered the gun then launched an investigation.
The suspects remain at-large.
