Suspects Rob Woman in Newark’s Ironbound Section

Police officials in Newark are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a robbery that took place on Sunday, July 14, in the Ironbound section of the city.AdDirector Frage said at approximately 6:10 a.m., a woman walking on Ferry Street near Union Street was approached by a Black male who snatched her purse.

In the process, the suspect dragged the victim into the street, causing her to fall and sustain injuries.

She was transported to University Hospital, where she is reportedly in stable condition.

A second suspect pointed a handgun at a witness who attempted to intervene.

Both suspects fled the scene in a black Mazda SUV at Ferry Street and Union Street.

Detectives are actively investigating this incident and have released descriptions of the suspects.

Suspect 1 is described as a thin Black male with a dark complexion, wearing a black sweat jacket, pants, and black and white sneakers.AdDirector Frage said the other suspect is also a thin Black male with a dark complexion, wearing white sneakers, blue shorts with pants underneath, and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Suspect 3, the driver of the black Mazda SUV, did not exit the vehicle.
