An overnight armed gas station robbery in Newark's West Ward has police around the city on alert.
Police responded to the Citgo Gas Sation located in the 700 block of Sandford Avenue shortly after 5 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery in progress.
Employees informed units arriving at the scene that two black male suspects robbed the station while pointing a gun then fled the scene in a white Audi with possible NJ license plate numbers "ZAE-92V".
The vehicle is reportedly stolen out of Union.
Multiple police officers searching the West Ward community found a car fire in the 50's block of Pinegrove Terrace.
The is believed to be the getaway car used in the gas station robbery.
There were no immediate reports of physical injuries.
