Newark Public Safety officials are requesting the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved in a knifepoint robbery and attack on July 12. The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 a.m. in the 300 block of Lafayette when two Black males approached the victim.
Director Frage said one of the men, wearing dark clothing and a beard, pulled out a knife and began fighting with the victim.
The other suspect grabbed the victim’s leg, and both men rifled through his pockets, taking a cell phone and wallet.
The suspects fled in an unknown direction but were captured on surveillance video near Ferry and Polk Streets minutes before the robbery.
