A late night theft of a vehicle/carjacking in Irvington had the suspects crash the vehicle then run from the scene.
The incident reportedly originated from the BP Gas Station on Union Avenue at around 12:30 a.m. where several suspects stole a vehicle then sped away from the scene according to reports.
A short time later in the 100 block of Madison Avenue, the crash came to a crashing halt after colliding into a pole at that location.
About 4 suspects were observed running from the scene according to residents in the area.
PSEG arrived to repair a damaged pole but there were no injuries immediately reported.
Police are investigating.
