Police in Newark are on the search for suspects who ran from the scene of a crash in Newark's South Ward on Monday evening.
There were no immediate reports of a police pursuit when a car occupied by several people crashed into a house in the vicinity of Bergen Street and Chancellor Avenue at approximately 9:20 pm.
According to reports, the driver operated the car at a high rate of speed throughout several neighborhoods in the city finally coming to a halt when the vehicle slammed into the gate of a large house.
There were reports of one injured female who may have been inside the car, but police have not confirmed the incident after an initial request for information.
No one inside the house suffered injuries. The damage to the home was not considered significant according to reports.
The incident remains under investigation.
