Police are looking for three males who participated in the carjacking of a New York woman’s vehicle then dragged her nearly 20 feet before they made off with her car while she waited at an Elizabeth carwash early this morning.
According to police, officers were called to the 700 block of Edgar Road for a report of a carjacking that occurred a little after 6:30 a.m.
A preliminary investigation determined that after three males crashed a stolen white Honda Accord into two parked vehicles, they exited the car and were observed walking towards a Staten Island woman who police said was standing outside her blue Toyota Sienna van at the carwash.
One of the suspects, who was only described as a male with a gray hoodie and a black surgical boot entered the driver’s seat of the woman's car and began to drive off ultimately dragging the woman approximately 20 feet as she held on to the steering wheel.
Police said the Toyota Sienna van was last seen heading North on Edgar Road.
The remaining two males did not get into the vehicle, and their whereabouts are unknown at this time.
The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
