Suspects Asked Victim for Time Before Beating, Robbing Her in Newark

Newark police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in a robbery that took place on Sunday, July 14.NinosAccording to police reports, at approximately 8:55 p.m., the suspect left Wendy's, located in the 300 block of West Market Street, with approximately five others.

The group surrounded the victim and asked her for the time.

As the victim checked her cell phone, one suspect attacked her while another took her phone.

Detectives describe Suspect #1 as a Black male wearing a black T-shirt with a white design in the center and dark-colored shorts.

Suspect #2, who took the phone, is described as a slim Black male wearing all-black clothing. No photo is available.
