Authorities in Newark are asking for the public’s help in identifying the male suspect in connection with a business burglary that occurred on Sunday, January 19.
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. stated that at approximately 5:11 a.m., a male suspect approached the drive-thru window of Taco Bell, located at 52 Jones Street, and used a rock to break the window.
The suspect then crawled through the window, walked to the store’s back office, and stole a bag inside a drawer containing $480.00 in cash, according to Newark officials.
Newark Police said the suspect placed the bag inside his blue backpack before fleeing the store, walking northbound on Jones Street towards 14th Avenue.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as Black with a thin build, Newark officials say.
