Suspect Sought for Distributing Drugs in Morris, Sussex Counties

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart, and Chief of Detectives Thomas McCormick announce the results of a joint investigation conducted by both their Narcotics Task Forces.

Following a two-month investigation, officials said on October 11, 2022, members of both Task Forces, the Dover Police Department, the Roxbury Police Department, the Wharton Police Department, and the Morristown Police Department participated in an operation targeted at the drug distribution of Maurice Nobles and Tyson McCoy. Wharton resident Maurice Nobles was arrested that day.

Dover resident Tyson McCoy remains at large. 

Law enforcement officials said Maurice Nobles, 35, of Wharton, was charged with the following twenty (20) offenses and remains detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending trial:

• One Count of Second Degree Conspiracy to Possess with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, in violation of N.J.S. 2C:5-2/35-5a(1)5b(1).

• One Count of First Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine), in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5A(1)b(1) and 5c.

• Six Counts of Second Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5a(1) and 5b(2).

• Six Counts of Second Degree Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine), in violation of N.J.S.2C:35-5a(1)b(2), a crime of the second degree;

• Six Counts of Third Degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine), in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1).

• One Count of Fourth Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Drug Paraphernalia, in violation of N.J.S. 2C:36-3.

 

According to officials, Tyson McCoy, 41, of Dover, NJ, has been charged with the following seventeen (17) offenses and remains wanted on this outstanding arrest warrant:

• One Count of Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Dangerous Substances, in violation of N.J.S. 2C:5-2/25-5a(1)5b(1).

• One Count of First Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine), in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5A(1)b(1) and 5c.

• Four Counts of Second Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5a(1) and 5b(2).

• Four Counts of Second Degree Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine), in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5a(1)b(2), a crime of the second degree;

• Five Counts of Third Degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine), in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1).

• One Count of Fourth Degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Drug Paraphernalia, in violation of N.J.S. 2C:36-3.

During this investigation, over 250 grams of cocaine were seized, along with drug packaging paraphernalia, currency, and multiple cell phones.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation.  

Despite these accusations, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they have each been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
