Officials are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a man sought in connection with a bank robbery that occurred yesterday.
According to authorities, at approximately 2:30 p.m., police responded to Capital One Bank, located at 487 Springfield Avenue, for a report of a robbery.
Police say a male suspect approached a teller and demanded money but suspect ultimately fled the bank without taking any proceeds.
The suspect is describe as an approximately 6-feet tall man, 180 lbs. and has a medium brown complexion with a bald head. Police say the suspect was last seen wearing an orange shirt, stone washed jeans and a gold necklace and pendant.
Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s assistance in quickly identifying the suspect and removing him from Newark’s streets.
