Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a cool and clear first Sunday of the month, offering residents a beautiful second half of the weekend.SupportWhile today will be noticeably cooler than Saturday, it's still a great day to enjoy the outdoors or don your spring outfit if you're heading to your house of worship.

Early worshippers might want to keep a jacket handy, as temperatures will warm up gradually, making it comfortable to shed extra layers by noon.

Meanwhile, forecasters from the National Weather Service (NWS) are closely monitoring Hurricane Milton, which is currently eyeing Florida.

The storm is expected to intensify into a major hurricane, with landfall predicted for midweek. Residents along Florida's west coast are being urged to make preparations for potentially life-threatening conditions.

Back in the North Jersey area, today's forecast calls for sunny skies, a high near 69 degrees, and a north wind shifting south in the afternoon, NWS meteorologists said.

Tonight, expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 a.m., with a low of around 63 degrees.

Enjoy your Sunday, Newark!Support
