National Weather Service meteorologists say the Newark and North Jersey regions promise a sunny day with temperatures reaching 90 degrees.

At 4:45 a.m., the humidity is 82%, creating a warm and slightly muggy atmosphere. A calm wind is expected to shift towards the southeast, blowing at speeds of 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

While the day may start with clear skies, NWS forecasters say spot storms are possibly developing throughout the area. These storms, although isolated, can bring brief periods of rain and lightning. It is advisable to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions if you find yourself in the vicinity of a storm.

In addition to the chance of spot storms, there is concern over worsening air quality as the day progresses.

Due to urban conditions, emissions, and various other factors, the air quality in Newark and the surrounding region may deteriorate.

As the afternoon approaches, the calm wind is expected to shift towards the southeast, bringing a slight breeze to the region.
