A Summit police officer and a state trooper is being credited for assisting a woman who went into labor early this morning on a NJ highway.
According to authorities, the Scotch Plains woman was in the rear seat of a friends vehicle, pulled off to the side of I-78, when officers responded to a 911 call and spotted the vehicle upon their arrival.
Officers assisted in the delivery of the 6 pound 14 ounce baby girl authorities said.
EMS Ttransported the mom and baby to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston where they are doing fine according to police.
