Newark residents are waking up to a warmer and more humid morning, with temperatures starting at 72 degrees as summerlike conditions return after a brief taste of fall.
According to the National Weather Service, today’s forecast shows no precipitation in the region during the early morning hours, but temperatures are expected to rise into the low to mid-80s, with a high near 86 degrees.
As the day progresses, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop after 11 a.m., bringing a chance of unsettled weather.
NWS forecasters say there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms by tonight, primarily before 8 p.m.
It’s shaping up to be a warm and partly sunny Monday in North Jersey, so residents are encouraged to stay prepared for possible storms while enjoying the summerlike day ahead.
