Good Saturday morning, New Jersey!
My friends and family across Newark and the North Jersey region are stepping out into cool morning breezes today, but don’t be fooled—much warmer air is on the way as we head into the first half of the weekend.

At 5 a.m., temperatures in downtown Newark hovered around 51 degrees, though a brisk west wind is making it feel a bit colder. If you're heading out early to walk the dog or get some early shopping in at ShopRite on Springfield Avenue, you’ll want to grab a jacket.
But don’t get too comfortable with that jacket—you might be ready to shed that extra layer by this afternoon.
According to The National Weather Service, today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 82 degrees. Winds will pick up throughout the day, increasing from 5 to 10 mph this morning to 17 to 22 mph by the afternoon, adding a breezy touch to the spring-like warmth.
As the sun sets, meteorologists say clouds will begin to roll in.
Tonight brings a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, with another chance of rain after 2 a.m. Overnight lows are expected to drop to around 45 degrees.
Looking ahead to Sunday, don’t forget to bring the warm jacket back out.
Temperatures are expected to dip nearly 20 degrees, settling in the mid-50s by the afternoon. While cooler, conditions will still be comfortable for early spring.

Enjoy your Saturday, New Jersey—and stay weather-wise as conditions shift heading into the new week!
