A strong armed robbery that happened in the area of 14th Avenue and Bergen Street has police on the search for a suspect this evening.
According to the female victim, a 6'2" dark complexioned black male (who was last seen wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans) grabbed her from behind then wrestled her to the ground at around 4:40 p.m.
The suspect took the woman's cell phone and other personal possessions before fleeing the scene south on Bergen Street at around 4:30 p.m.
There were no physical injuries reported.
The Newark Police Department are handling the investigation.
