Police in Newark’s East Ward are investigating a reported carjacking that occurred in the Ironbound section Monday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the intersection of South and Dawson streets where officers received reports of a carjacking at around 10:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers were made aware that a black male suspects arrived in the area and took the victim’s silver 2011 Ford Taurus according to police.
The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number “V69-EME”.
The suspect was only described as a tall black male.
There were no injuries reported.
