If you're heading out to walk the dog or catch the bus, a warm coat is recommended as brisk winds are making it feel even colder.

Downtown Newark feels like 35 degrees, while Morristown sits at 36 degrees, Sussex County at 32, and Paterson at 37.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will climb slightly throughout the day, but persistent breezes will continue to make conditions feel colder.

  • Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 50. East wind 8 to 10 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph.
  • Friday: A welcome warm-up is on the way with partly sunny skies and a high near 56.
