Police reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident that erupted in a Newark neighborhood this evening.
A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 5:35 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the 40’s block of Piece Street.
Officer arrived at the scene and found shell casings, but a search of the area indicated no gunshot victims.
During the investigation, police learned that the suspects drove into the 700 block of South 14th Street and began firing rounds from a moving vehicle.
One of the bullets smashed the window of a home, but no one inside was injured.
Police requested hospitals in the region to be on the lookout for potential walk-in gunshot victims.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined at this time.
