Roseland Police tracked a vehicle with a registration that came back stolen during the overnight hours.
Police in the West Essex County town notified surrounding agencies to be on the lookout for a 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE that was observed accompanied by a dark sedan shortly before 2 a.m.
The stolen vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "S52-KM2".
According to reports, the vehicle was last spotted in the area of 18th Avenue in Newark shortly before 2:30 a.m.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
