State Police are investigating a crash that occurred on the Turnpike early on Friday morning.
According to police officials, troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 12:17 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound on the inner roadway at milepost 54.1 in Bordentown, Burlington County.
The preliminary investigation reveals that a silver Acura RDX and a silver Toyota 4 Runner were traveling northbound on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound inner roadway when the Acura struck the rear of the Toyota.
According to the investigation, the Toyota struck a guardrail and came to an uncontrolled final rest on the northbound outer lane of travel.
As a result of the crash, the passenger of the Toyota was ejected, sustaining life-threatening injuries, and transported to Cooper Hospital for treatment.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
